We’re not always about food here at GrubHub.com, sometimes we like to mix things up a little. Recently we introduced an employee charity matching program here at our company, where we match dollar for dollar a single contribution by each employee to their chosen charity for the year. I picked Red Ink Productions — a nonprofit Chicago-based theater company — as my charity for 2009. So, to make sure the Red Ink artists aren’t starving, GrubHub.com also plans to help feed the cast and crew for the week leading up to opening night of their newest play, “Proof,” with some tasty meals ordered from our Web site.
“Proof” is running from April 24 to May17, so if you’re in Chicago and want to see some great theater, check it out. Here’s a short brief about the play:
On the eve of her 25th-birthday, Catherine, a troubled young woman, has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father, a famous mathematician. Now, following his death, she must deal with her own volatile emotions; the arrival of her estranged sister, Claire; and the attentions of Hal, a former student of her father’s who hopes to find valuable work in the 103 notebooks that her father left behind. Over the long weekend that follows, a burgeoning romance and the discovery of a mysterious notebook draw Catherine into the most difficult problem of all: How much of her father’s madness — or genius — will she inherit?
